- Start with your must-sees. List the top experiences you don't want to miss, then build the itinerary around them — not the other way around.
- Budget early and buffer generously. Add 15–20% to your estimated costs for unexpected expenses. Meals, transport, and entrance fees add up quickly.
- Check visa requirements at least 3 months out. Some visas take weeks or months to process, especially for multiple-entry or longer-stay permits.
- Book accommodation in the right order. Lock in your first and last nights immediately, then fill in the middle once your itinerary takes shape.
- Pack light and leave room. A good rule of thumb: pack what you think you need, then remove a third of it. You'll thank yourself at every airport.
- Share your itinerary with someone at home. Always leave a copy of your plans — hotel addresses, flight numbers, emergency contacts — with a trusted person.

WanderPlan's AI then generates a full day-by-day itinerary with suggested activities, meal ideas, and practical tips, tailored to your inputs.
Can I collaborate with others on a trip?
Yes. You can invite anyone to your trip by email. They can be given viewer or editor access. Editors can update the itinerary, budget, packing lists, and other details alongside you.
Is my data safe?
All data is stored securely in an encrypted database. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. We don't sell your data to third parties.

WanderPlan ("we", "us", or "our") operates wanderplan.co. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our service.
1. Information We Collect
When you create an account we collect your username, email address, and password (stored as a one-way bcrypt hash). We also store trip content you create (itineraries, budgets, packing lists), usage logs for security monitoring, and data from third-party services described below.
2. Cookies & Advertising
We use Google AdSense to display advertisements on our landing page. Google may use cookies and device identifiers to serve personalised ads based on your prior browsing activity. You can opt out of personalised advertising at adssettings.google.com.
We participate in the Travelpayouts affiliate programme. When you click affiliate links (Booking.com, Klook, Trip.com, Airalo, TripAdvisor, Saily), Travelpayouts may set cookies to attribute the referral at no extra cost to you.
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We share data only with the third-party services required to operate WanderPlan: Supabase (database), Railway (backend hosting), Vercel (frontend hosting), Anthropic (AI itinerary generation), Google AdSense (advertising), Travelpayouts (affiliate tracking), Resend (transactional email), and OpenStreetMap Nominatim (geocoding).
4. Data Security & Retention
Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. All connections use HTTPS with HSTS. Authentication endpoints are rate-limited. Your data is retained while your account is active. You may delete your account at any time via Settings → Delete Account, which permanently removes all associated data.
5. Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time. You may also opt out of personalised advertising via Google Ad Settings.
6. US State Privacy Rights (CCPA / CPRA and Similar Laws)
If you are a resident of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, or another US state with applicable privacy laws, you have the following rights:
- Right to Know — request details about the personal information we collect, its sources, our purposes for using it, and the third parties with whom we share it.
- Right to Delete — request deletion of your personal information (or delete your account directly in Settings).
- Right to Correct — request correction of inaccurate personal information.
- Right to Opt Out of Sale or Sharing — WanderPlan does not sell your personal information. Google AdSense may use cookies for cross-context behavioural advertising, which may constitute "sharing" under applicable law. Opt out at Google Ad Settings.
- Right to Non-Discrimination — we will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
